2 Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thine heart was lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a god, I sit upon the throne of God in the midst of the seas, (thou being a man, and not God,) and hast set thine heart as the heart of God;
3 Behold, thou art wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that is hidden from thee.
4 By your wisdom and by your prudence you have accumulated riches, and you have acquired gold and silver in your treasures.
5 By the greatness of your wisdom in your dealings you have multiplied your riches; and by reason of your riches your heart has been lifted up.
6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast set thine heart as the heart of God,
7 Therefore, behold, I will bring strangers upon thee, the mighty men of the nations, who shall draw their swords against the beauty of thy wisdom, and shall defile thy splendor.
8 They shall bring you down to the grave, and you shall die the death of those who die in the midst of the seas.
9 Wilt thou speak before him that killeth thee, saying, I am God? Thou art man, and not God, in the hand of thy slayer.
10 Thou shalt die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
11 The word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
12 Son of man, take up a lamentation against the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou wast the seal of perfection, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.
13 In Eden, in the garden of God, you were in the garden of God; of every precious stone was your clothing; the cornerine, topaz, jasper, chrysolite, beryl, and onyx; of sapphire, carbuncle, emerald, and gold; the primitives of your tambourines and flutes were prepared for you in the day of your creation.
14 You, great cherub, protector, I set you on the holy mountain of God, there you stood; in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.
15 You were perfect in all your ways from the day you were created, until iniquity was found in you.
16 Because of the multitude of thy trespasses thou wast filled with iniquity, and hast sinned: therefore I have cast thee from the mountain of God, and cast thee from the midst of the stones of the fire, O covering cherub.
17 Thine heart is lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy splendor; I will cast thee down to the ground; I will set thee before kings, that they may look upon thee.
18 By the multitude of thine iniquities and by the iniquity of thy trespasses thou hast profaned thy sanctuary: therefore I have brought forth fire from the midst of thee, and it hath devoured thee, and I have made thee ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.
19 All who have known you among the peoples will marvel at you; you will be a terror, and you will cease to be forever.
Prophecy against Sidon
20 The word of Jehovah came to me, saying:
21 Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against it,
22 And thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Zidon, and in the midst of thee will I be glorified: and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall execute judgments in her, and sanctify myself in her.
23 I will send pestilence and blood into her streets, and the slain shall fall in the midst of her, with the sword against her on every side; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
24 And the house of Israel shall be no more a thorn in the flesh, nor a sting to make it sore, in the midst of all them that compass it about and despise it; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
25 Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall gather the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, then will I sanctify myself in them in the sight of the heathen, and they shall dwell in their land, which I gave unto Jacob my servant.
26 And they shall dwell therein safely, and build houses, and plant vineyards, and live securely, when I shall execute judgments on all them that spoil them round about them; and they shall know that I am the LORD their God.

28 God also said to me:
2 “You, Ezekiel, tell the king of Tyre for me:
“You are too proud.
You even think you are a god
because you reign in the middle of the sea.
But don’t think you’re so wise,
because you are but a man.

You are no wiser than the prophet Daniel,
nor do you know all the secrets,

but you are certainly very smart:
you have succeeded in amassing gold and silver,

“I will turn against you.
When I give you what you deserve,
people will recognize my greatness.

“I will send plagues against you;
I will make your enemies
attack you from all sides.
Blood will run through your streets,
and people will die by the sword.
Thus they will recognize that I am God.
