Biblically accurate God

Do you know the concepts in which God is reaffirmed in Christianity? In today’s article, we will talk about how we Christians understand the figure of the Lord and highlight some of the most important key concepts to understand its relevance.

Theology of God in Christianity

What Is God Like In The Bible? (Bible Stories Explained)

As Christians, we can have a personal and unique view of what religion and God represents for himself, i.e., we are free to interpret certain aspects of religion. Even so, we all share a common point of view: God is the father, creator of the Universe and all that dwells and lives in it. For all of us, God is an omnipotent being who is also without evil. God is love, justice and truth.

The Holy Trinity

In Christian dogma, God manifests himself to humanity in three different ways, recurrently mentioned in the Bible: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

This is what is known as the Holy Trinity, and we must not forget that the three forms are manifestations of the same God. It should be noted that the words Holy Trinity never appear in the Bible, but the three persons that comprise it do.

The concept of the Holy Trinity is something with a much deeper and philosophical meaning than the one we have mentioned and, in addition, depending on the branch of Christianity that is practiced, some points of its meaning may vary, creating a wide range of interpretations.

All of them converge in the fact that God presents himself as the union of three persons and that each of them is God, so that they are the same being, but differ in their origin. This already gives us an idea of the origin of the sense of community that we Christians have.

God as Father

Christians often address God as Father, call ourselves Sons of God and consider other Christians as Brothers. This is a consequence of the Holy Trinity, although it goes a bit further.

Christianity is the first religion to call God Father, and to give that familiar connotation to the community. This differentiates us from all other religions and attributes to us the feeling of solidarity and love of neighbor that represents us so much.

God as Son

Together with the Father, they are the images of God that we have most in mind. The Son is the incarnation of God in Christ, representing the intrinsic presence of God in humanity. Although this paternal-filial relationship is usually attributed to the historical moment in which the events of the New Testament took place, the truth is that it transcends time and space.

God as Holy Spirit

The concept of the Holy Spirit is the most difficult to understand and also to explain. Although he has the same importance and essence as the Father and the Son, he is not mentioned with that humanized and familiar character.

Many times it appears in the Bible as God’s action on Earth, participating in the Immaculate Conception or Pentecost among many other events.

We hope that after this article, you will be clearer about the idea of God in Christianity and all that surrounds it. You must remember that this is only a brief introduction to clarify some concepts that may generate confusion, but that God goes beyond what we have described here.
